Under the District

Basanti Maharjan, March 21, 2016 (Dcnepal) – Under the District Technical Office the rural reconstruction and rehabilitation Project has finished the Rolpa - Mijhing Gam road construction work on B.S. 2070 for an investment of 19 crore 34 lakh 81 thousand.  

Its about to be three years after the road construction work had finished but still the vehicles couldn’t run on a regular basis. The formal inauguration program of the road has not been done yet. The Mijhing -Gam road that is of 36.8 kilometer has been constructed with the support of Asian Development Bank.

Mijhing-Gam road is one of the longest roads in Rolpa district. This Mijhing-Gam road connects Mijhing, Badachaur, Gumchal, Harjung, Syuri and Gam. But the negligence of the contractor, the consumer society, political parties and government offices the road have been constructed substandard due to which transportation vehicles couldn’t operate on a regular basis complaint the locals.

 Locals said that last year too District Development Committee did not provide the essential amount in time so the road was expanded by the help of local community. In addition he said, lot of times they had submitted delegation to the District Development Committee for the completion of road construction work but yet there have no any hearings from the DDO.

Later they said they can’t continue the road construction work because of Indian blockade and said as there are lack of fuels they were unable to work said the locals. As the road started to demolish just after the road construction work finished, locals complaint in the DDO but still there are no any hearings.
