Burhanpur SDM KR Badole was acting on information of illegal sand mining taking place along Tapti River in the town.
Badole said that the mafia also attempted to drown him by trying to seize his boat. As they could not harm the SDM, they attempted to vandalize the vehicles and the attack over other team members, the buildingrn On Wednesday evening, March 17, 2016, police team led by Badole reached the place where they were reportedly attacked by the sand mafia. Two press photographers were also manhandled and their cameras were broken by the mafia.
In this way, the Sand Mafia was strongly supported by the preoccupied mind-set that they were right and they are ready to fight against the administrators. In order to teach a lesson to such alleged Mafia, SDM has played a vital role. In fact, due to his bravery, many mafia have got the first fear to quit the mafia. "I had received complaints about illegal sand mining taking place along the Jainabad bank of Tapti River. After reaching there, we tried to stop the mafia workers. Instead, they launched an attack on us by pelting stones at us and attempted to drown my boat," said Badole. According to Mr. KR Badole, they have filed a complaint against 25 people in the connection.
