Top universities in Europe Consult the QS World University Rankings® 2015/16, and you’ll see that Switzerland has joined the UK as being one of the countries in Europe with the highest ranked universities. Switzerland now has two universities ranked within the global top 15, with ETH Zurich, in 9th place and EPFL (Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne) 14th. Meanwhile the UK remains Europe’s leader at the top of the tables, with four UK universities in the top 10 and a total of 18 UK entries in the top 100. Of these, the University of Cambridge leads in joint 3rd position, while the University of Oxford is unsurprisingly not far behind at 6th. Other top European universities include France’s ENS Paris (ranked 23rd in the world) and Ecole Polytechnique (40th); the Netherlands’ University of Amsterdam (55th); Denmark’s University of Copenhagen (69th); Germany’s Technische Universität München (60th) and many more…
