Basanti Maharjan, March 21, 2016 (Dcnepal) – Nepalese were amazed around three months ago to see and read the news of China, Beijing saying that what a polluted city is Beijing that people needs to walk wearing a mask anytime, everywhere because of mist created by an air pollution.

But look unfortunately, the notice that has been published recently has included Kathmandu City of Nepal in the third position of World Pollution Index and also the number one polluted city in Asia. Unmanaged urbanization, lack of management of garbage, run the old and unfinished standard vehicles, lack of greenery sector as well as several other reasons Kathmandu has been started to renown as the polluted city area worldwide.

Kathmandu City’s environments too are deteriorating along with its unmanaged urbanization.  Five years only too people can’t feel hotness in Kathmandu City but now due to the reason of water and air pollution the hot temperature is increasing day by day.

Government of Nepal is not only responsible for the improper management of garbage in Kathmandu area but also residents of city area too are equally responsible for it. People from city are are not concerning much for the proper management of garbage but also the coordination between the government agencies too are not seen.

Bhairav Bogati, Chief of Metropolitan Environment Management Department said, they have been managing around 20-22 lot of garbage of Kathmandu City area per day at Okhar Pauwa in a sanitary land field site. There Kathmandu Metropolitan City office is managing garbage by keeping few feet of garbage and few feet cover with clay.

Due to the increasing negligence of local inhabitants and irresponsibility of concerned agencies towards the environment Nepal is creating the negative image worldwide.
