Chiranjeevee Pokhrel for DCnepal, Feb 24, 2016 - At last Monday night, Mahuwan’s Unit Police Office has arrested the smuggler and has detained narcotic – CHARES, which was not arrested by the Gandak Police Post, Parsa.
The pick-up van, which had come from Makwanpur along the highway, was checked by Gandak Police and then released by confirming there was nothing. After being released from the Gandak Police, Mahuwan’s Police Office has caught the person and detained the illegal drugs –CHARES. A petrol team of Mahuwan’s Unit Police Office had checked the pick-up van at Bhauratar VDC-9 when the van was heading to India through the road. After being narcotics detained in the van, it has been clear that there is understanding and some give and take between the highway police and the narcotics’ smugglers.
Petrol team of Mahuwan’s Unit Police Office has taken pick-up van (Ba 6 Cha 504) under control. Police source has said that the practice of police’s favour to the smugglers is going on. While 100 kg. CHARES was being taken making false button on the pick-up van, Sindhupalchowk district’s Danphe-2 dweller Tolaram Tamang (27) has been arrested. District Police Office Parsa had publicized the arrested person and the illegal stuff including CHARES and cash Rs.50,000 calling Press Conference over there.
Actually, right after being arrested, the smuggler Tolaram Tamang had tried to bribe up to Rs.50,000, as DSP Raju Babu Shrestha said in the press conference. The van and the person are arrested by the police for further investigation according to the DSP Shrestha.
The narcotics – CHARES – were being transferred from Hetauda, through Gandak, and Bhoratar heading to India. When above one – dozen of police released the van after so-called checking, the narcotics had not been detained.
